The second generation of Hyundai Accent (2000-2005) in Egypt is called the Hyundai Verna.

It took me a lot of searching till I finally found the correct model for my newly owned Hyundai Verna, and still I'm confused about it, when you read both articles in the WikiPedia one about Hyundai Accent and the other about Hyundai Verna, anyway, whatever you want to call it, it is a very nice little car.

I only had it since last year, I haven't done so many things with it like I did with my old Fiat, because I was very busy last year, so all I did was going to work and back, and very few trips around Egypt, not more than 250 Km. on a high way.

It handles quite OK, ride is quite smooth, it even looks nice, and I got it with all the options available in Egypt, and automatic transmission.

At first, as I was used to a rear wheel drive car, and manual transmission, I felt like I lost some control on the car, I even encountered a bad skid, where the car spun around, and crashed, as you can see in the image, but the real bugger was that the automatic transmission is not as responsive as the manual, and the front wheel drive is a really bad, but all in all, the car is quite nice, and fast, i did run with it reached the 180 Km/h, and had lots of friends who have a Verna manual transmission, who easily got to 200 Km/h, and still the car seamed stable.

The service center is quite good, although the Hyundai is the most popular car in Egypt, so the service center is always crowded, and you can easily spend the whole day waiting to get your car serviced, and sometimes, they are too busy, that you don't get a good report about what happened in your car, I'm one of those guys who really care to know what did they do servicing my car, and even would like to be in the garage watching closely, and even looking at the car from the bottom side, and see for myself what I'm really driving!

Technical info was not very easy to acquire, but I intend to write more about it here in more details about all the aspects I can get, and would appreciate any information from you about this car or any other car you would like to talk about.
